Louis stays home at Wimbledon. Again.

12

The grass was mowed. The stands filled up. Prince Louis didn’t make the cut.

Once again, the Royal family gathered at Centre Court without their youngest.

The Box, Not the Boy

July 12 saw the Men’s Final wrap up with Jannik Sinner taking the title against Alexander Zverev. Inside the Royal Box? Kate Middleton, Prince William, George, and Charlotte.

Kate fulfills her role as patron of the All England Club. It’s a job, not a party.

George is 12 now. Charlotte is 11. They’ve been doing this dance for a while. Louis, 8, watched from the sidelines. He missed his debut window. Or did he?

The math checks out. He was the same age when George and Charlotte first attended. So why the exclusion?

Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming.

That was 2023. Kate told People back then how miserable her youngest was when Charlotte got to go for her first time.

George went last year. Charlotte went this time. They watch eagerly.

Louis doesn’t fit the mold.

He’s known for being… spirited. Playful. Silly. Sitting through hours of tennis requires stillness. Silence. Discipline. Louis has a documented history of struggling with those exact traits at official functions.

Imagine trying to hold that stillness for a five-setter.

The Ball Boy Dream

He’s not bitter about the tennis itself. Far from it.

Jenna Fontanilla, an 18-year-old ball girl, caught up with the Princess of Wales the day before the final. She shared a charming detail about the kid back at Kensington.

Louis wants to be a ball boy.

He asked Kate how it’s done. She told him it’s hard work. It involves coordination and hustle on court. Fontanilla found the interaction sweet. It shows where Louis’ mind is at. Not the box seats. The baseline.

Waiting Game

Maybe he just can’t handle the boredom of the VIP experience yet. Maybe he needs the freedom to move.

Will next year bring the change?

There’s no guarantee. But the passion for the sport is real. If he ever steps onto those grass courts as a ball boy, it’ll make far more sense than sitting quietly in a box.

Or maybe he just needs one more summer to grow.
